Language

Language is one of the most important aspects of a magazine as this simply is what the reader is mostly going to be looking at first to hook them into buying the magazine. The language used is design for a specific target audience and depending on who they are depends on the different techniques put forward.

Vocabulary -  The vocabulary used is chosen specifically suited to the target audience as they are meant to portray a different meaning depending on the target audience.
Tone - Tone is the attitude that the writer conveys to the reader. It's not necessarily what you say, but how you say it. Tone is intended to create a specific response or emotion in the reader. It creates a personality that can either engage or repel users.

Register -  register is a variety of a language used for a particular purpose or in a particular social setting.

Forms of address - This is used to entice the reader and make a clear connection between the reader and the magazine. This can be used by including direct mode of address showing that the magazine is speaking directly to the audience making them more involved. Also through the use os rhetorical questions which starts to get the reader really thinking and put forward their opinion.

Style - The style used in a magazine is again based on the target audience and how they are best going to understand it more. If the magazine is aimed at adults then the language used tends to be more formal and proper as adults don't usually use slang however if the magazines target audience is aimed at the younger age it tends to show the language being identified as more relaxed and casual.
